Sign up!

  1.  On Friday, you received your progress reports for term 3/final.  Check to make sure everything is correct and you have completed everything.
  2. Sign up to participate in the Esters Lab on Wed. from 9:30-10:30am AND/OR to participate in a year-end celebration.  There is a sheet posted on the white board and you can let us know if you are bringing food for the celebration.

Last Class

  1.  Students sorted through the lab stations.
  2. Students looked over their final exams and were given their Term 3/Final progress reports.
  3. If you still have an “I” standing, you need to clear it up by Tuesday!  See me after school today, tomorrow and if needed, Wednesday.

Final Exam Part 2

  1.  Today, students wrote the multiple choice portion of the Final Exam.
  2. Next class:  you will get your term/final progress report, along with results from your final exam.  We will also clean out the lab stations, organize and replace equipment.  If time, we may also go outside and have some bubble fun.

Project #3 presentations

  1.  Last presentation!  So far, there have been stories, songs, games, poetry, etc…
  2. Next class:  you will get your progress reports for term 3/final.  This will represent your AP mark.  If there is an error, email/see me asap.
  3. Awards:  Congratulations to the Chem13 News winners of the element plaque (top 200 out of about 2000)!
  4. Sign up:  if you want to do the Esters Lab on Wed. June 24 from 9:30-10:30am and/or join the year-end celebration from 10:30-12:30 (bring snacks and your lunch)

Final Exam Part 2

  1.  Today, students wrote the multiple choice section on the final exam.  In total, the final exam is worth 10% of your overall grade.
  2. Next class, you will receive a progress report of the year.  Check it over to make sure everything is correct.  If there is an error, email me/talk to me asap.

Final Exam Part 1

  1.  Today, students wrote the free response section of the Final Exam, focusing on mole calculations.
  2. Next class, students will answer 50 multiple choice questions focusing on Units 2-9 of their Hebden workbooks.
  3. If you borrowed a Hebden workbook from the school, I will collect it from you next class.

Project #3 – Finish and Present!

  1.  Finish Project #3
  2. Present and hand in project #3.  All projects must be completed by Wednesday.
  3. Wed:  finish presentations
  4. Friday:  check final term/year marks;  Challenge activity
  5. Tuesday:  annual distribution
  6. Would you like to do an esters lab?  If so, what day works best?
  7. Would you like to have a year end celebration?  If so, in what form and when?

Final Exam Part 1

  1.  Students wrote the first part of the final exam:  the free response section.
  2. Next class:  Final exam part 2 – the multiple choice section.  You will need a pencil and scientific calculator.
  3. If you borrowed a Hebden workbook from the school,  I will collect it from you next class.

Review for Final Exam

  1.  Review for Final exam – highly recommended that you go through the 2 review packages!
  2. Tuesday June 13 – written section of the final exam will focus on Moles and Mole calculations
  3. Thursday June 15 – mc section of the final exam will cover all topics
  4. If you borrowed a workbook from the school, you will need to return it on Thurs. June 15.  If you wrote in it, you will need to bring $25 to pay for it.
